Like other Indian classical dance forms, Odissi has two major facets: Nritta or non-presentational, in which ornamental patterns are created using body movements in space and time; and Abhinaya, or stylized mime in which symbolic hand gestures and facial expressions are used to interpret a story or theme.

Dedicated scholars and dance enthusiasts carefully researched manuscripts and studied the sculpture, observing performers to revive and restructure the unique dance. Nowadays, Odissi has become one of the most popular classical dance style.

Together with her dance group, a famous dance artist - Ms. Arundhati Roy will showcase a lively and fancy performance with distinctive dances including Shiv Tandava, Pallavi, Abhinaya Dashavatar, Waves, Mokshya.... by professional movements and artistic jumps in their performance at Hue Festival 2010.
